Aldea Visited IFAT Munich 2024 Fair in Germany

Anıl Tol, the European Projects and Business Development Manager of Aldea Heating Systems, participated in the world’s leading trade fair on Water, Wastewater, Waste, and Raw Materials Management held from May 13th to 17th.

At Aldea Heating Systems, we are following environmentally friendly and green processes closely to make improvements in all aspects of water and operational processes, not only in heating and energy fields, in order to contribute to the future of our planet.

DTC – January 2024 / Anıl Tol – Director of Projects Abroad / Interview

When we make a financial and technical assessment of the year 2023;

First of all, at the beginning of 2023, there was a big earthquake disaster that affected us all deeply. After the disaster, we have fulfilled our duties as Aldea, we are continuing our assistance and we will continue to do so.

As for our financial assessment, we have gone through processes where loan interest rates have been increased, credit card installments have been reduced, and new applications have been added constantly to reduce the speed of demand.

This period, which can struggle with high inflation, has been a difficult year for employers.

As a result, companies started looking for new bazaars for themselves or started working to develop new methods to reduce production costs.

In 2023, within this framework, we also established our company in Germany. We have made our distributor agreements in Germany, Switzerland, Macedonia and Italy. While learning about the consumption habits of the European bazaar, we experienced logistics, service and installation issues.

The high energy costs in the industry in the domestic market have encouraged companies to use heat pumps by removing natural gas and coal from use.We have realized almost 3 times the sales of industrial devices in 2022.

We no longer feel the need to tell our customers how the heat pump works and its benefits in chicken farms, greenhouses and factories. Our customers make purchase requests to us by determining their own capacities.

The turnover we have targeted in 2023 has been realized as of September. We are closing the end of the year with more than 20 percent of the turnover we target.

Another element of our evaluation, you know, we have 3 types of devices.

Heat Pumps for Residential Buildings

We have completely finished the production of 410 gas-powered devices in residential buildings. We will continue to serve the residential Sunday with our R32 liquid gas powered devices in 2024. Our tests related to R290 refrigerant gas are ongoing. We will have completed our work on this issue by the summer of 2024. At the end of 2024, our R290 gas powered devices will also be put into production.

Industrial Type Heat Pumps

We have two developments in industrial-type heat pumps that we will realize in 2023.

The first of these developments is that we have increased our device capacity up to 340 kW in a single device. In addition, we have carried out an update on the compressors of our industrial-type heat pumps. Thanks to the new update, the compressors of our industrial-type devices have sequential operation capability.

Another improvement we have made is that we have increased the capacity of our high-temperature inverter heat pumps to 120 kW. Now we are able to offer these devices to all our customers who need 12o kW.

Heat Pumps for Swimming Pools

We use R32 fluid gas in all of our pool heat pumps.

All our pool heat pumps from 4 kW to 41 kW had started to be included in our stocks in 2023 as inverters. it will continue to be included in the stocks in 2024.

We foresee that the economic policies implemented in 2023 will continue in the first 6 months of 2024. As a result, we anticipate that the sales rate of residential heat pumps, which have been realized in the domestic Bazaar in recent years, will decrease.

On the other hand, on foreign bazaars, the supply of heat pumps will continue to grow if it continues in the same way. As Aldea, our goal is to realize the perception of the Aldea brand that we have created in Turkey in Europe as well. In 2024, we will have a serious marketing activity aimed at the foreign bazaars. These marketing activities include fairs, magazines and training.

Apart from these, unfortunately, we can observe that an adequate planning and controlled working environment is not provided in our sector. We carefully select our own dealers in order to provide a healthier working environment and to be able to make adequate planning.

Almost every end user in the individual heating and cooling bazaar in Turkey complains about the work done. This situation not only causes a loss of time and work, but also incorrect system applications lead to a serious loss of national income both individually and industrially. We need to pay more attention to this issue as a state and nation and create more regular, more competent business conditions.

As Aldea, we fulfill this responsibility by working with each of our dealers and customers in line with this vision. We know that we will get the reward of this understanding with the new projects we continue with our references. This understanding gives us happiness and allows us to be full of hope for the coming year.

As a result, these investments and innovations that we made in 2023 allowed us to increase the competitive power of our company. It also helped us to provide more valuable solutions to customers. We aim to support our sustainable growth by continuing to take firm steps in this area in the coming period. We hope that 2024 will be a more productive, healthy and successful year

for every business in Turkey.

MCE Mostra Convegna Fuarına 11-14 Mart

Our Technical Team participated in the MCE Mostra Convegna Fair, which is held every 2 years in Milan, Italy, on March 11-14 in order to closely follow new technologies and developments in the HVAC sector worldwide. As Aldea, we are evaluating the process related to taking part in the MCE fair in 2026.

Aldea aims to increase the applicability of the heat pump on the cooling side

Stating that the air conditioning sector has experienced a very rapid change in the last 30 years due to the change in fuel costs in the world, the increase in the efficiency of the devices used, the acquisition of an insulated structure of houses, the imperatives imposed by global warming and similar factors, Aldea Sales Manager and Mechanical Engineer Ahmet Orhan said the following about Aldea’s bazaar position and recent developments: “The adventure that started with coal stoves in our homes in the past years continued with diesel boilers in later years. With the increase in fuel costs and the advancement of technology, diesel boilers have been replaced by natural gas systems. Today, due to the policy followed by our state regarding natural gas, natural gas has been delivered to all parts of Turkey and the Sunday has grown every year, encouraging many foreign companies to open factories in Turkey for the production of boilers. However, two issues stand out in the bazaar these days. The first of these is the increasing natural gas costs. The 1 year gas cost of an average household has increased by 55% in the last 1 year. Secondly, global warming and fossil fuels … Human beings have now begun to care and feel the damage caused to the environment by the fuel they burn. Renewable energy is defined as an energy source that can be available exactly the next day in nature’s own evolution. Our prediction is that in the next 20 years, using heat pumps and derivative products powered by renewable energy sources in our country will become a necessity, not a choice. Our company has been one of the companies that have been leading the heat pump bazaar for many years. the bazaar has been spent for many years with the description and design of the heat pump. Today, architects and end consumers are now buying their products directly. Our company is one of the leading companies in Turkey as the installed power in the hotel, factory, etc. devices that we call industrial. All industrial products used by our company are completely produced in Turkey. This also makes us more competitive on bazaar in terms of price service, etc. Our goal in the near term is to be effective in the export bazaar and to increase the applicability of the heat pump on the cooling side. Especially in regions such as İzmir, separate solutions are used for consumer heating and cooling. This both increases the cost of investment and means space wastage,”he said.

Aldea Sales Manager Ahmet Orhan: ”The working logics of VRF and heat pump are the same, but there are differences in the way they transfer energy and the way they are designed“ Ahmet Orhan, who expressed that both VRF and heat pump systems are theoretically based on the thermodynamic cycle, gave the following information about both systems: “The working logics are the same. However, there are differences in the way energy is transferred and projected. To explain with a short example; in a hotel in the coastal region, cooling with VRF and hot water with a heat pump is the most accurate solution both in terms of initial investment and operating cost. However, if the same hotel is in the Ankara region, designing with a VRF system at very low temperatures cannot meet the needs because it cannot give the efficiency of the heat pump in environments where outdoor air temperatures drop. In these regions, the heat pump comes to the fore. Our colleagues need to choose which system is advantageous here according to the project. Our task is to transfer these to our colleagues through professional training.”

“The use of heat pump does not exceed 1-2% in the solutions of the total heating and cooling needs for Turkey at the moment”

Emphasizing that natural gas is available in every province at the moment, Ahmet Orhan continued his words as follows: “Naturally, the use of natural gas is at the highest level right now. However, the gap between natural gas installation costs and heat pump installation costs is narrowing every day. The use of heat pumps does not exceed 1-2% in the solutions of the total heating and cooling needs for Turkey at the moment. In developed countries, this rate is at the level of 50-60%. The most important reason for this is that these systems do not harm the environment, countries do not want to be dependent on foreign sources of fuel, and the increasing cost of fossil fuels. We cater to the domestic market with monoblock or split type inverter machines which are designed according to A7W35 between 3 Kw – 25 Kw within the scope of our company. For the industrial market, we have monoblock devices between 30 kW-150 Kw for A7W35 or A15W35 for hotel hot water. We have cascade systems that we operate up to 900 Kw with the devices we use in the industrial bazaars. In addition to these, we use devices with house compressors in devices that will be used in cold areas. This allows our devices to work more efficiently at low temperatures. Our devices are working flawlessly in our cities such as Kayseri, Ankara, Çorum, where the average temperature is 0 degrees day-night in January and February. Heat pump installations require both heating and cooling knowledge. Therefore, it is important to put the system components together correctly. The calculations of the pipe diameters to be used here and the circulation pump selections require information because they are made differently from other systems. We conduct sector training from time to time in relation to this issue. Our company also monitors the accuracy of applications by providing project services.”
