As Aldea Heating and Cooling Systems, we are investing in renewable energy systems at this time when the ecological balance is deteriorating, global warming is increasing, and the climate crisis is being discussed.

We take care to realize our device model preferences, production and project solutions in parallel with these plans and determine our vision accordingly.

Our most important goal is; fuel-oil, coal, diesel, LPG, LNG, natural gas, etc. by installing high energy efficient, correctly designed heat pump systems. to contribute to our economy both by preventing the use of fossil fuels and by contributing to our environment through economical products.

We offer individual and industrial solutions from 10 kW capacity to 340 kW capacity with our Aldea Heat pumps.

With our heat pumps, we are able to meet the heating, cooling and hot water needs for individual user solutions.

We meet your needs with our special system and project solution suggestions according to the facility to be applied for industrial uses.

In addition to building heating and cooling, we also produce pool heating and cooling solutions.

We reach the desired system capacity with cascade applications for very large capacity system solutions, and we continue to increase our application area day by day by making special projects suitable for processes.

We take care to integrate our heat pumps with the photovoltaic solar collector system and offer solutions with minimum energy consumption and emission value.

Heat pumps are devices designed according to the temperature value of 5°C. It is very important to make the right discovery and the right project design appropriate to the discovery before sales and application.

The model and capacity of the device to be selected in accordance with the discovery, the mechanical installation products to be installed (pipe, valve, dirt holder, etc.) must be selected in the correct size and dimensions. With this choice, the first step is taken in making the right application.

In addition to the correct installation diameters of the heat pumps designed as 5°, it is important to make the correct buffer tank selection in the installations where the balance container dimensions, expansion tank volume and cooling will be performed.

Installation application and project solution applications that are made correctly will minimize the need for authorized service.

This is also one of the biggest factors that increases user satisfaction.

Of course, not needing service should not lead us to a conclusion that the maintenance of the heat pump product should not be performed.

Properly made installation application allows the device to work almost smoothly. In addition, depending on the working conditions and times, maintenance should be carried out.

Periodic maintenance of the heat pump is required at least once a year.

In places where the working conditions are heavy, in very dusty environments, in places where service is received, such as a long working time, the heat pumps need to be serviced 2 maybe 3 times a year.

Our air source heat pumps suck air from the outside environment through a fan to take the energy of the outside air, trying to collect the heat energy on it by passing it through the evaporator honeycombs.

At this time, while the air passes through the evaporator honeycombs, the particles in the external environment adhere to the evaporator honeycombs thanks to moisture and cause these air ducts to fill up over time.

Entangled air ducts can cause the heat pump to work inefficiently, consume more energy and malfunction at a later stage.

Such situations will increase the energy consumption cost of the enterprise and reduce its comfort.

Not only device maintenance, but also mechanical installation maintenance of the installed system is very important for these reasons.

As it is known, it is aimed to prevent the climate crisis within the framework of the 2015 Paris Agreement, which Turkey has also ratified. According to this agreement, it aims to limit the increase in global average surface temperature to 2° and keep it below 1.5° if possible. Scientists note that exceeding the 1.5°C threshold will lead to much more severe climate change impacts on humans, wildlife and ecosystems.

Therefore, every improvement that will be made will contribute to this process.

All fossil fuel systems should be revised with lower emission value systems.

Most of the feasibility studies conducted prove that heat pump products are more efficient and faster-to-return products compared to fossil fuel products.

We have individual obligations to prevent the climate crisis. We should live in a way that makes sure that our carbon footprint is at a minimum value.

We should be conscious; we should do our best not to leave our future to drought and disasters.

1- Our first interview with Aldea. Therefore, before starting our interview, we would like to talk about Aldea’s product range and the innovative solutions it offers to the industry. Could you tell us about your products and solutions that you offer for both industrial and residential buildings with the motto ”nature friendly technologies”?

Our field of study is ‘Renewable and Sustainable Energy‘ sources. Resources that can continue their existence the next day due to their nature. Air, water, earth and sun. These natural resources form the basis of our motto.

In order to continue using resources such as coal, natural gas, oil, you need to pay your bills. If you do not pay, you cannot use it again.

However, renewable and sustainable energies will continue to exist as long as life exists.

At this point, as Aldea, we produce devices that can be used for all kinds of structures. We offer solutions with individual devices from 8 kW to 35 kW for houses and villas, from 8 kW to 60 kW for pools, industrial devices for hotels and factories from 25 kW to 2000 kW.

2- Aldea prefers to use R32 gas refrigerants in individual and pool heat pumps. What are the advantages of R32?

The gasses used actually change depending on technology and environmental conditions. Our new serial devices are also using R32 gas. R32 gas is more environmentally friendly than other gasses, its emission values are lower. However, our tests are continuing for both efficiency and the use of R290 gas, which emits close to zero carbon emissions. In the coming years, we will also offer our R290 gas powered products to our customers.

When it comes to gas selection, the carbon emission value comes to the fore before efficiency. The region you also use for efficiency, seasonal conditions force you to make the right choices not only for gas, but also for other features of the device.

3- Aldea pool heat pumps can be used for direct pool heating with a special titanium heat exchanger. How does the fact that pool heat pumps have a special titanium heat exchanger compared to others affect installation, efficiency and cost?

There are many chemicals that are used in the pool. In general, the pool chemical chlorine can be exemplified in the form of algae inhibitor, pH reducer, brightener, precipitator and ion arrestor. Due to these chemicals, normal heat exchanger use will not be very sustainable. Titanium heat exchanger is more costly, but it has a longer service life and higher efficiency.

4- Heat pumps are preferred more than other systems because they meet both heating and cooling needs with high efficiency and low energy consumption. As a domestic company, do you find the use of heat pumps in Turkey and the awareness of the heat pump point sufficient? What are the duties of associations, companies and sector stakeholders to increase awareness?How does Aldea carry out studies to increase awareness?

We are one of the companies that laid the foundations for the use of heat pumps in Turkey as well.

By introducing heat pumps to architects and projectors, we have shed light on a technology that is friendly with nature.

In those years, heat pumps were being introduced as an alternative to fossil fuels. One day fossil fuels will run out, so the need for an alternative was in the foreground.

Today, it is explained and evaluated as the best solution to stop the damage caused by fossil fuels to our world and reduce the negative impact it creates.

We can say that there is a higher consciousness and awareness at the point we have come to, and this is increasing every day. It is very gratifying for us that you are leading the way on this issue as well. And I also want to thank you.

5- The heat pumps used in buildings can also be used for heating and cooling in pools. How does the use of special pool heat pumps for heating and cooling pools offer advantages in terms of cost, efficiency, labor compared to other heat pumps?

This topic varies according to applications. The outlet water temperatures of pool heat pumps are limited to 35°C. When higher temperatures and faster heating times are desired, we should use the heat pump that we use in buildings.

To give an example of this; If you are going to design an outdoor pool in the Sapanca Region where 28 °C is desired in winter, you should not ignore that the outdoor air temperature Decays to degrees such as -3, -5 The pool heat pumps are capacitated according to the outdoor air temperature of 20°C and the outlet water temperature of 28°C. In this case, you cannot heat an outdoor pool in Sapanca with a pool heat pump in January.

Here you can solve the house we use in commissioned buildings with compressor heat pumps designed according to +7°C outdoor air temperature and 35°C outlet water temperature.

I also think we should discuss pool cooling as well as pool heating. Especially in hotels located in Antalya, water temperatures rise above 30 °C in summer. This is also included among the complaints of hotel customers Dec

6- Digitalization and connectivity constitute one of the effective elements in product preferences, and companies offering connectable technologies come to the fore. What is the importance of connectivity for pool heat pumps? How does Aldea offer solutions to its users in terms of connected technologies?

We live in the world of technology and it is moving very fast. You can also remotely control our devices. You are in Istanbul. You will go to your house in Bodrum on the weekend. While traveling in Istanbul, you can make the system of your home in Bodrum work from your phone.

7- The year 2023 was very eventful with the earthquake disaster, economic upheavals and new regulations that came into force. How was the year 2023 for Aldea? along with your evaluations for 2023, could you tell us about your expectations and our goals for 2024? What are your new bazaar targets and investments for 2024?

Every year is actually going even better than we expected. Bazaar is not only the domestic market, but also the foreign market is very active. This is due to increasing awareness and problems related to fossil fuels. Due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the natural gas shortage in Europe also triggered this mobilization. Europe is currently passing laws on heat pumps. The number of heat pumps planned to be sold only in Germany in 2024 is 1,200,000 units.

As ALDEA, we have opened a warehouse in Frankfurt to better serve the European bazaar. We have started the dealer configuration in Europe from Germany.

We will continue to add innovations to the sector. Our company, which was a pioneer in the application of heat pumps for obtaining hot water for use in hotels in the early years, has also put into operation applications for heating and even cooling of chicken farms and greenhouses. With the increasing references, we will have freed chicken farms from fossil fuels in 2024.

8- Do you have anything you want to add finally?

We do our job with love. The work we are doing includes many benefits from the world ecological balance, even until we reach the prices our country pays for fossil fuels and that makes us very happy.

This is very important for a cleaner world.

Based on the increasing fossil fuel prices, seeing the number of heat pumps and systems increasing every day increases our love for our business every day.

1-Aldea, which has reached a leading position in industrial and commercial heat pump solutions in a short time, offers solutions suitable for every need by increasing its product range. How do you assess the sustainability of heat pump use in Turkey, which is harmless both economically from the consumer’s point of view and from the environmental and carbon emission’s point of view in the long term?

I would like to evaluate this question under 3 headings.

-The rapid increase in the fuel costs used in our country and around the world

-The amount of carbon emissions of companies

-Turkey, which works integrated with active companies in international trade

Due to the continuous increase in fuel costs in our country and around the world, enterprises that use natural gas and coal in industry, residences, greenhouses and chicken farms prefer heat pump devices to reduce fuel costs.

Electricity production from solar energy in Turkey is increasing every day. Small or medium-sized enterprises that want to reduce the amount of carbon emissions and reduce their costs are turning to systems that work integrated with solar energy. At this point, electrically powered heating and cooling systems come to the fore.

Almost all of Turkey’s industrial enterprises are progressing in an integrated manner with international trade. European and American-based companies that are actively involved in international trade have been demanding the same understanding from suppliers and partner companies, apart from their own organizations, by carrying out studies to reduce the amount of carbon emissions in recent years.

This demand means that companies operating in the field of industrial and industrial farming in Turkey tend to minimize the use of coal, natural gas (fossil fuels) in order to keep carbon emissions at low levels.

For the reasons I mentioned in the first three articles, we think that the use of heat pumps in our country and around the world will increase day by day.

2-We would like to tell you about your Aldea ALD-EQ-MB series of air-to-water Monoblock Inverter household heat pumps that offer high efficiency that you have introduced to the bazaars. Can you tell us about the features of your ALD-EQ-MB series, the advantages it provides, and the DC Inverter Technology integrated into your heat pumps? How does inverter technology work, what are the benefits of inverter technology heat pump systems?

Our heat pumps are classified according to operating conditions +7 degrees outdoor air temperature (A7W35) +35 degrees outlet water temperature.

The A7W35 is the reference point for capacitance-heat pumps- today. To give an example, when you want to buy a 16 kW air source heat pump, all manufacturers have to offer you a product that gives you a 16 kW capacity in the A7W35 working condition.

Our products are designed in such a way that there is a minimum consumption of electrical energy to meet these standards.

The best technology that can be used in fans and compressors today is DC Inverter technology. Thanks to this technology, the fan and compressor located inside a 16 kW heat pump are enabled to work in the capacity of 4-16 kW by turning down themselves when necessary and consume electricity accordingly.

At the same time, the evaporator surface located on our heat pumps is used more effectively, ensuring that the electricity consumption is lower.

 3-According to the Global Air Source Heat Pumps Market Research Report, the Global Monobloc Air Source Heat Pumps market size is estimated to be $6.8 billion in 2023 and will grow by 7.7% YBBO from 2023 to 2030, reaching $12.4 billion in 2030. Can we get a bazaar evaluation of Aldea, which is one of the manufacturers of Monoblock Air Source Heat Pumps, and could you tell us about the features and advantages of Aldea Monoblock Heat Pumps that it offers to the market?

We can see that heat pump applications will constantly increase. The demand in the Turkish Sunday will be supported by two or three more companies together with ours on an industrial basis.

The reason for this situation is that the companies working in the mechanical installation sector are increasingly deteriorating their engineering infrastructure and are acting with economic anxiety. The supply of new engineering firms is decreasing.

Our biggest advantage in the sector is our experienced dealers and staff.

At the same time, besides the production of white goods, we see that large companies that sell side heating products such as geysers, thermosiphons do not have any work related to creating such engineering infrastructures. For this reason, we do not give any possibility of success except for 3-4 companies with experience like us on an industrial basis.

On the housing basis, the return, that is, the companies that provide the best service will survive, the firms that are not efficient and intensive bureaucracy and that make faster returns to their customers will be successful.

4-With the development of technology today, pool water can heat and cool pool water in the most economical, most efficient way with heat pumps. What would you say if we asked you to evaluate the efficiency of your pool heat pumps that you have commissioned as Aldea in terms of site needs and demand?

The demand for rental houses and villas with pools in the country’s tourism is increasing every year.This demand covers the period of June-September in the past years, while today it has started to cover the transition seasons of April, May, October and November.

Vacationers who prefer to stay during these months demand that the pools be at a swimmable temperature. This demand can be easily met with heat pumps.

We believe that the tourism bed capacity of a country such as Turkey should be able to be used for 12 months. Thanks to the pool heat pumps, we have roughly doubled a 4-month process. With this increase, we think that all hotels and villas with pools will turn to using a pool heat pump and should use it.

It is also a fact that almost all hotels from Bodrum to Antalya need pool cooling during the months and days when the air temperature is high. As Aldea, we are also aware of this need and all our devices work in a way that can do both heating and cooling. With this awareness, we offer solutions to all the needs of the sector.

5-What are your studies carried out as Aldea on the dissemination of the use of heat pumps? Can you tell us about the areas of use and importance of heat pumps, especially in the construction sector?

We provide continuous training to companies in the sector on the dissemination of heat pumps. In our training content, there is information about the areas of use of heat pumps, capacity calculations, correct and efficient applications, and auxiliary equipment that can be used with heat pumps. In addition, we aim to inform the sector correctly through organizations such as Yapı Magazine.

We continue to work for a future where heating, cooling and hot water needs are met with a single device and annual electricity consumption is provided by solar panels used on roofs as far as possible.

As you know, there is no annual electricity offset in the domestic use of photovoltaic panels yet. We hope that in the coming years, annual offsetting will be carried out by law for domestic use, just like in enterprises.

In this way, we think that the use of electricity with solar energy will increase and that we can seriously reduce carbon emissions by entering into a more environmentally friendly process by choosing a heat pump.

6-If we asked you to evaluate the heat pumps market in Turkey and around the world, what would you say, what is the roadmap that the market will follow from now on and what are your predictions about the development of heat pumps technologies? If we asked you to evaluate Aldea’s bazaars position, what would you say?

As Aldea Heating Systems, we are in a good position in the industrial appliance bazaar. We have reached this position thanks to our knowledge, skills and experience. As we continue to develop and improve, we will continue to maintain our current position and move to further points.

We have established another company based in Germany in order to carry our knowledge and skills in the sector to the European bazaar. We will continue to gain experience with our company, which will start operating in 2024.

7-What would you like to add finally?

I would like to underline that it is mandatory to use tools suitable for a sustainable life in order to protect our nature.

In the past years, the highest sea sensory temperature measured in Turkey was 31 degrees in İskenderun. This year, we met a new record of 35 degrees in İzmir-Güzelbahçe. We know that some species have been spreading rapidly and effectively from warmer ecosystems to our seas for the last 10 years, and this is an ecological threat for our region as well. We need to be more aware of facts such as the sea water temperature reaching levels it has not reached before, increases in forest fires, the water scarcity we are currently experiencing, and maybe no one should think about 20-30 years from now.

We think that we are doing our part by establishing high energy efficient systems, renewing the old fossil fuel systems that Turkey depends on abroad with heat pumps, which are the most efficient devices of today, and taking care of the national economy and our environment.

As ALDEA, we will continue to move forward with this goal.

Aldea aims to increase the applicability of the heat pump on the cooling side

Stating that the air conditioning sector has experienced a very rapid change in the last 30 years due to the change in fuel costs in the world, the increase in the efficiency of the devices used, the acquisition of an insulated structure of houses, the imperatives imposed by global warming and similar factors, Aldea Sales Manager and Mechanical Engineer Ahmet Orhan said the following about Aldea’s bazaar position and recent developments: “The adventure that started with coal stoves in our homes in the past years continued with diesel boilers in later years. With the increase in fuel costs and the advancement of technology, diesel boilers have been replaced by natural gas systems. Today, due to the policy followed by our state regarding natural gas, natural gas has been delivered to all parts of Turkey and the Sunday has grown every year, encouraging many foreign companies to open factories in Turkey for the production of boilers. However, two issues stand out in the bazaar these days. The first of these is the increasing natural gas costs. The 1 year gas cost of an average household has increased by 55% in the last 1 year. Secondly, global warming and fossil fuels … Human beings have now begun to care and feel the damage caused to the environment by the fuel they burn. Renewable energy is defined as an energy source that can be available exactly the next day in nature’s own evolution. Our prediction is that in the next 20 years, using heat pumps and derivative products powered by renewable energy sources in our country will become a necessity, not a choice. Our company has been one of the companies that have been leading the heat pump bazaar for many years. the bazaar has been spent for many years with the description and design of the heat pump. Today, architects and end consumers are now buying their products directly. Our company is one of the leading companies in Turkey as the installed power in the hotel, factory, etc. devices that we call industrial. All industrial products used by our company are completely produced in Turkey. This also makes us more competitive on bazaar in terms of price service, etc. Our goal in the near term is to be effective in the export bazaar and to increase the applicability of the heat pump on the cooling side. Especially in regions such as İzmir, separate solutions are used for consumer heating and cooling. This both increases the cost of investment and means space wastage,”he said.

Aldea Sales Manager Ahmet Orhan: ”The working logics of VRF and heat pump are the same, but there are differences in the way they transfer energy and the way they are designed“ Ahmet Orhan, who expressed that both VRF and heat pump systems are theoretically based on the thermodynamic cycle, gave the following information about both systems: “The working logics are the same. However, there are differences in the way energy is transferred and projected. To explain with a short example; in a hotel in the coastal region, cooling with VRF and hot water with a heat pump is the most accurate solution both in terms of initial investment and operating cost. However, if the same hotel is in the Ankara region, designing with a VRF system at very low temperatures cannot meet the needs because it cannot give the efficiency of the heat pump in environments where outdoor air temperatures drop. In these regions, the heat pump comes to the fore. Our colleagues need to choose which system is advantageous here according to the project. Our task is to transfer these to our colleagues through professional training.”

“The use of heat pump does not exceed 1-2% in the solutions of the total heating and cooling needs for Turkey at the moment”

Emphasizing that natural gas is available in every province at the moment, Ahmet Orhan continued his words as follows: “Naturally, the use of natural gas is at the highest level right now. However, the gap between natural gas installation costs and heat pump installation costs is narrowing every day. The use of heat pumps does not exceed 1-2% in the solutions of the total heating and cooling needs for Turkey at the moment. In developed countries, this rate is at the level of 50-60%. The most important reason for this is that these systems do not harm the environment, countries do not want to be dependent on foreign sources of fuel, and the increasing cost of fossil fuels. We cater to the domestic market with monoblock or split type inverter machines which are designed according to A7W35 between 3 Kw – 25 Kw within the scope of our company. For the industrial market, we have monoblock devices between 30 kW-150 Kw for A7W35 or A15W35 for hotel hot water. We have cascade systems that we operate up to 900 Kw with the devices we use in the industrial bazaars. In addition to these, we use devices with house compressors in devices that will be used in cold areas.This allows our devices to work more efficiently at low temperatures.Our devices are working flawlessly in our cities such as Kayseri, Ankara, Çorum, where the average temperature is 0 degrees day-night in January and February. Heat pump installations require both heating and cooling knowledge. Therefore, it is important to put the system components together correctly. The calculations of the pipe diameters to be used here and the circulation pump selections require information because they are made differently from other systems. We conduct sector training from time to time in relation to this issue. Our company also monitors the accuracy of applications by providing project services.”
